Guidance Page for Expert Africa’s Travelers, OR
Any US Resident Going on an African Safari

We offer Travel Insurance from AIG Travel Guard USA.

For travel to Africa, we strongly recommend purchasing a policy, which has at least the following coverages:

  • Medical coverage of $100,000.
  • Emergency evacuation coverage of $1,000,000. This should include evacuation to your hospital of choice, which can be your hometown hospital.
  • Coverage for adventure sports, especially if you plan to take a hot air balloon ride, go white water rafting, zip lining, bungee jumping, hang gliding, etc.

AIG Travel Guard USA has several plans which either offer these coverages as part of their standard plan or can be upgraded to include theses coverages. Since the cost of these plans can vary by state, the costs in some states may be very price competitive, and not in others.

If you go online at Travel Guard and try to book, you will not find Travel Guard Plus, you will only get a quote for the Deluxe, Preferred, and Essential, plans. However, If you go to Travel Guard's Plans, and scroll down to “Offline" plans”, you will find Travel Guard Plus. Since Travel Guard Plus is ideally suited for African safaris, Safari Samaritan is authorized to offer it on our website. Because Travel Guard Plus is offered in most states, it becomes the obvious choice when available.

Which ever plan you choose, we will guide you through the process of purchasing it.

If you fill out the form below, we will provide you with the most appropriate AIG plan for you. You can then compare both price and coverages with plans from other travel insurance companies.

African Safaris and Charitable Giving (Safari Samaritan) is a "for profit" company. All the money we make is from the sale of travel insurance. We make no income on the sale of solar powered lamps, nor do we receive any fees from the manufacturer or distributer of the lamps.

Because we are "for profit", none of the items we suggest you donate while on safari should be considered a tax deductible item, including the solar powered lamps. However, because we are "for Profit”, and make all our money from travel insurance, you can be sure that 100% of the money you donate for solar powered lamps goes to the purchase of the lamps.
